Brisbane 2033: Legacy Project

About Us

Our History

The Brisbane Development Association was founded in 1957 by Sir Reginald Groom, a former Brisbane Lord Mayor who created the committee to provide feedback on issues affecting the city’s development.

In 2018, the Brisbane Development Association was renamed the Committee for Brisbane.

The Committee engages all levels of government, industry and the community to help make greater Brisbane the world’s most liveable place.

A summary of the Committee’s history can be found here and here.

The Committee For Brisbane acknowledges the First Nations People of the region and their continuing connection to and care of the land, waters and community of that region.
We also pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
