Committee for Brisbane CEO steps down

The Committee for Brisbane announces the resignation of our Chief Executive Officer, Barton Green effective 15 January 2024.

Barton joined the Committee for Brisbane at a pivotal time in its history and leaves to pursue some new business opportunities. After 60 years as the Brisbane Development Association, a desire to broaden the organisations’ representation of members and priorities led to the establishment of the Committee for Brisbane in 2018 and Barton’s subsequent appointment as the organisation’s inaugural CEO in late 2019. Under Barton’s leadership, the Committee has experienced significant growth in membership, events programming, and advocacy activity, solidifying the Committee’s position as an independent, influential and visionary voice for a better Brisbane.

Committee for Brisbane President, Kristan Conlon expresses her appreciation for Barton’s contribution over the past four years, and on behalf of the Management Committee and team wish Barton all the best for his next chapter.

As the Committee moves forward, the organisation’s commitment to its members and bold advocacy for Greater Brisbane remains unwavering. The Management Committee will initiate a recruitment process for a new CEO, ensuring a seamless transition of leadership.

“We are confident that our strong Management Committee team, coupled with the remarkable talents of our employees, will continue to propel the Committee for Brisbane toward a strong and successful future.”   – Kristan Conlon, President.
